Bianca Anne Braunesberger is a cross-disciplinary artistic practitioner. Her primary focus is on choreographic work that creates spaces through sound, physicality, and text. Bianca Anne studied contemporary dance in Austria and Germany and furthered her artistic research as part of a master’s program in co-creation and choreography at Codarts Rotterdam and Fontys Tilburg in the Netherlands. She has been a certified yoga and Pilates instructor since 2011.
She previously danced with Jyri Kylian at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Romeo Castellucci at the National Theater in Prague and tanzcoop Vienna. Together with choreographer Deyan Georgiev, she stages productions at the National Theater in Sofia and in the independent performance scene internationally.
In 2004, she founded the costume label annebedesign. From 2012 to 2015, she served on the board of RedSapata Tanzfabrik Linz. Producer/Curator: 2013–2016 Theater Stories Residency at Werkraumtheater Wels; 2012–2015 open space Linz; 2021–2025 Performing Puzzle Vienna; 2022–2025 TANZ im OFF Vienna; 2025/26 Tanzcompany Gervasi. Active member of Sonnensteinloft Linz, ttp WUK Vienna, and Flirty Horse Art Collective. Together with sound artist Stefan Zotter, M.Sc., she founded tauschfühlung—a label for contemporary dance and electronic music.
Bianca Anne’s choreographic spaces are experimental in nature and feature a post-human aesthetic. Bianca Anne conducts research at the intersection of materiality and spirituality to develop creative physicality and sound qualities.
Teaching positions at, among others, Burgtheater in Vienna, Festspielhaus in St. Pölten, Tanzquartier Vienna, Dock11 Berlin, and Impuls Tanz Vienna. Nominated for the 2015 Vienna Independent Arts Award. As co-author, choreographer, and rap coach for “Die Düntzer Rhapsodie,” a co-production with Theater Drachengasse in Vienna, she won the 2025 Nestroy Prize for Best Off-Production together with Ivan Strelkin.
Her choreographic piece “Inter-Space” was most recently presented at the Theaterhaus Jena, and her work “OKO” at toplocentrala in Sofia. Her sound composition for the dance piece “Treibgut” recently premiered at DAS Margareten in Vienna. With her music project QUOD, she will release the new set “soak it all in” at LOT Vienna in late 2026.
